Juice Fast Day 6/60 – 10%

It’s my 6th day of my 60 days juice fast, which means I’ve already done 10% of the fast. Slowly but surely I’m getting there.. This morning I lost another .3 kgs. which brings my total weight loss to 1.7 kgs. My current weight is 61 kgs. Yeah! 2 more kgs to go and I’ll no longer be in the line of 6! I have to be 58 kgs. for me to fall into a normal BMI. Yes, that’s still 3 kgs to lose, but I’m sure I’ll get there and even pass through that as my ultimate goal is 52-53 kgs.

I’ve been feeling ok most of the day. I don’t feel hungry as a tall glass of juice is so filling already. As for my cravings, it’s more under control now. Can you believe that our family ate out with friends for lunch yesterday and I only had a watermelon juice. Oh, the delicious aroma of Thai food. I also served breakfast for our friends and prepared hamburgers and toasts but I wasn’t tempted.   Congratulations to me!.. But what I’m missing now is to ‘chew’. It has been quite weird to juice drink my meals. I hope I will get over this and be used to the fact that I’ll be drinking my meals for the next 54 days!

Juice Fast Day 5/60 – Carrot Juice

I just checked my weight today and I only lost .2 kg. Hmm..it must be from the coffee that I drank last night.. :) So, from 62.7, my weight is down to 61.3. That’s a total of 1.4 kg. lost in 5 days. Not bad huh? I calculated that even if I only lose . 2 kg a day, I will still attain my goal weight in 44 days. I think slow is good, it gives me consistency and the process allows me to slowly change into healthy eating habits.

Ok, enough ‘obsession’ about weight, let me tell you about my everyday juice. I’m mainly drinking a fruit and vegetable juice that’s like 50% carrots, 20 % green and leafy vegetables and 30% fruits(apple, orange, pear).  My juice  normally has this orangey-greenish color ( if there’s such word). I really like the taste of my juice now. I’ve tried to put more greens but I think I still have to get accustomed to its taste. Maybe I’ll do that when I’m halfway through my fast. As for the carrot juice (mixed with other veggies and fruits), I do know that there are a lot of health benefits for this. I remember that 2 doctors recommended carrot juice when my father was on his last stages in cancer. Though I know it’s not a cure for cancer, but it’s benefits must be so much on why they recommend it for cancer patients. So, everytime I drink my juice, I just don’t think about weight loss but the health benefits it can give me. That alone gives me enough motivation to go on the next 55 days. I know that the rest of the days won’t be perfect but I’m glad that I’m trying to make a change to be fit and healthy!

Juice Fast Day 4/60 – Temptations

I’m only on my Day 4 out of 60 from my juice fast but it seems I’ve already been doing this for more than a week. My days seems longer and there are more ‘temptations’ along the way.

Like last night, we went out for groceries. It’s the end of the month and it has been kinda of a ritual for our family to eat out. I didn’t want to deprive my family of eating out because of my fast so, we still continued with our end of the month ritual. I made sure to drink my juice before we left so,I won’t feel hungry. My kids’ chose Chester’s grill and they had my favorite grilled chicken. I just had a glass of iced water and I wasn’t so tempted because I felt so full that time.

Then today was lunch at church but even if I already felt a bit hungry, I was able to bear a little longer and waited to come back home to have my juice. We also had friends who came over for tea. I made butterscotch bars and hmmm… the whole house was filled with the delicious aroma. And I was so proud of myself not to eat a single slice!

But then, evening came and I went out for a date with Hubby. I was already so determined to have a fruit juice on our date but sadly, the place where we went only served sodas and coffee!!  Hubby will feel bad if I just drink water on our date..so I opted for coffee instead. Oppsss..that was downfall there.. But still I’m proud of myself for not giving in to a lot of temptations. At least I didn’t eat anything .. :) )

I still have 54 days to go and I know I will soon be able to perfect my fast and just have juice ( and nothing else)… my aim is to lose 10kgs in this 60 days and I’m sure it’s achievable. And by the way, speaking of weight loss, I weight myself this morning and I lost another .6 kg. which means I already lost a total of 1.2 kilos in 4 days!! Another 8.8 kgs to go!
