More Outdoor Activities

More Outdoor Activities

As I’m homeschooling my kids, our time is mostly spent at home with very limited time spent outdoors. Since Mondays afternoons are off  for Hubby, I’m thinking now to set this time for our family to be outdoors. We could go to the beach, to the park or the stadium. When they grow a little bit more older, we could go for camping in one of the camp sites here. We were always tempted to buy one of those Lightweight Backpacking Tents , but shun it off because we’re thinking that our kids are not big enough for camping. But I think we won’t have to wait very long since our kids are really growing fast. :)

Fast Break Goals

Fast Break Goals

I’m already halfway through the book ( The Spark) that I’m currently reading. As the first phase of the program, I need to make 3 Fast Break goals that covers nutrition, fitness and motivation. The fast break goals need not to be as  ‘challenging’ but just enough to keep me going and attain success at the end.

So, here are my Fast Break Goals for th week:

1) Eat at least 2 servings of fruits and vegetables. ( nutrition)

2) Exercise for at least 20-30 minutes 5 times a week. ( fitness)

3) Read an article a day regarding health and fitness. ( motivation)

So, here are my Fast Break goals.. I’ll need to make an update for this in a week..:)

My most awaited book has arrived, The Spark by Chris Downie. I ordered this book from Book Depository a few weeks back and it finally came the other day. I’ve actually been looking for this book in MPH Malaysia but they didn’t have any copy available. When I checked their website, the book also costs around 60 RM. It turned out much cheaper to buy online since Book Depository offers free shipping.

Anyways, I’m really serious with my goal to live a healthy lifestyle, that’s why I needed to invest in this book so, I have a ‘guide’ which I can hold in my hands. Yes, the author’s website ( Sparkpeople) provides all the information and support that I might need for this endeavor but then, I don’t have all the time to glean through all the infos from the site. Apart from that, it does seem that I can process information better when I read a book rather than reading the computer. I don’t know if that makes sense but reading text from the computer makes me want to read faster and therefore miss out a lot of things.

Anyways, I’m still on the first part of the book which talks about the basic building blocks and that includes exercise. I’m getting better in this area and I want to be more consistent with it. There are no hard rules on which exercise to follow when you’re just starting. The point is just to keep yourself moving may it be just walking up and down to your mail box or walking in the treadmill. I’m currently doing Zumba which I’m enjoying so much. Other may want to do Pilates in Cottesloe, Yoga class Perth or power plate Perth . The kind of exercise won’t matter much I think, but starting slow is best until you can build up consistency and momentum.

Anyways, I will be making a separate review once I’m done reading the book. All I can say is that I’m very excited to change into a healthy lifestyle.. it’s time to say bye bye to all my diets and start envisioning myself to be a healthy person I never was… ;)
