Our Little Nurse

Our Little Nurse

One of our little girl’s ambitions is to become a nurse. I’ve always been curious why she likes to be a nurse more than to be a doctor. But when we stayed in the hospital for my son’s operation, I saw how our daughter would be staring at all the beautiful Thai nurses in their cherokee nursing uniforms.  Many of the nurses in that hospital are actually pretty,   very friendly and looked nice even in their scrubs or coats. They must have chosen these from http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/.

They looked more like flight attendants than nurses. That’s the only time then I understood why my daugther wants to become a nurse. :) But even then, when we were at the hospital she really assisted us and her little brother in many ways. Thanks to our little nurse!

Slimming Tea and Coffee Recalled

Slimming Tea and Coffee Recalled

Because I was so desperate to lose weight, I was playing on the thought to try out (again) the slimming coffee that a bought a few months ago. I even read my post about  it. But then, I also remember the results of the ‘research’ I made about such slimming coffees and the like. Some of these have actually been recalled and banned in a lot of countries. Since many of these are made from China, they just circulate without going through the FDA or the authorities. Some of the labels are not even clear as to what substances or chemicals are in the coffee.

As what I’ve resolved a few months ago, it’s better for me to be ‘thick’ than thin ( through the use of this coffee) yet my health at risk. What if there will be long term side effects? We won’t be able to file a complain to any company since it’s manufactured all the way from China and got it only by mail. It’s really risky to take all these slimming teas and medicine. Even medicine that has been ‘approved’ for a time can be recalled and have and have negative effects. Just take for example Topamax in which Topamax lawsuit have been filed because of the effects on babies.

So, as my conclusion, let me not be tempted with all these Chinese products anymore..they may be affordable but costly at the end….

The Bridesmaid’s Dress

The Bridesmaid’s Dress

We went over to our friends house last week. We had a lot of chitchats and were able to talk about weddings. Then they told us that A, who was once our flower girl ( almost 9  years ago) could still fit in her flower girl dress. They were teasing her that it meant she didn’t grow at all for the last 9 years. But then, I remembered that her flower girl dress was loose and big at that time since we had it sewn in the Philippines and didn’t get her exact measurments.

Anyways, when we talked about this, I immediately thought of my wedding dress..Oh, I know.. I won’t be able to fit in that dress anymore. I just hope that instead of getting bigger I’ll get thinner and thinner. :) Oh, how I remember those days when we were still preparing for our wedding and had bridal shower invitations before I left the Philippines.

Anyways, as I try to get fit and slim.. I hope that one day, I can fit into my old clothes again..
