We’ve just finished booking our flight tickets to go back to Malaysia for December. And since it’s an online booking, we had to use our credit card for the payment.

The convenience of booking tickets online is indeed one of the advantages of having a credit card. I remember years back when I was still quite hesitant to own a credit card because I was quite scared that I might end up in a lot of debt, scared of making a mistake in online purchases or being victimized by online credit card scams. I wasn’t aware of security measures and remote credit card storage back then.

But I believe it just takes a lot of discipline and self control on the credit card holder. Many times we were tempted to use the card for things that we not so necessary so, we had to ask ourselves whether the purchase is necessary, whether it’s urgent and whether we have to capacity to pay the bill the following month. And using these questions as a guideline, I’m sure we will be able to handle our accounts well.
