Save More.. Earn Extra

Save More.. Earn Extra

This has been like my motto in my endeavour to be financially fit. I like the the idea of saving money for the rainy days. As for now, ‘saving’ remains to be just an idea.. not yet a reality. I would personally like to set aside a sum of money per month and save it for a certain project, may it be a child’s education or an upcoming trip. But with a lot of bills waiting to be paid, it seems now that the ‘savings’ are actually meant to pay up the monthly bills. :)

But I will continue to strive to ‘save’, maybe after paying all our bills, we can save up some money for something worthwhile.

How to save money then? That boils down to buying only the basic necessities in life. But we must not be too stingy to the point of robbing our families or kids from the simple joys and pleasures right? I have to be very wise in the money spent but at the same time set aside some money for the little pleasures like eating out, buying books for the little ones.

Earning extra money is also a great way to ‘save’.  Thank God that through my ‘blogging’ career, I could earn some extra income which can be used for our trips and bills. I’m also still looking for other venues where we could earn a bit of income, but haven’t found it yet. But as of now, I’m very contented with my blog earnings to be used for our future savings.

What about you? What do you do to save money and earn extra income?

Congratulations to All the Graduates!

Congratulations to All the Graduates!

This month marks the graduation season here in the Philippines. Once again, parents will be relieved that the most awaited time has come. There are no more tuition fees to be paid and their children are ready to face the real world.

As thousands of students graduate this year, may there be thousands of job opportunities available for them too. I’m not sure of the job opportunities here in the Philippines whether there is great demand for jobs in finance or health but I know that there is a great demand for workers in the Call Center companies. But if you ask the graduates ( especially those who took up BS Nursing) they are surely looking towards working abroad. Whatever their choices are.. I just wish them all the BEST and good success! COngratulations!!

Is There Still Hope?

Is There Still Hope?

Such a serious title for a post huh? But I’m actually just talking about my weight loss ‘journey’. :)

Anyways, this was the question I asked my Mom when I was looking at our full length mirror, trying to fit my older sister’s shirt. Looking at myself in the mirror, noticing all my ‘excess baggages’ made me think twice if I still have hope to lose weight.

I think I’ve gained so much weight from my 5 months stay here in the Philippines. I didn’t have much exercise except a few seconds walk to and from the rooms and all I could think about was what to have for snacks or midnight snacks. So, what can I expect? More weight and bulges for sure.

But there was a glimmer of hope when my Mom reminded me of my older sis who used to be on the chubby side ( like how I am now) and lost weight after she has done a certain diet for a month. “What if I’ll do that diet and try it our for a month?”, I thought. But I had to shrug off the idea off because I know that what I really lack these days is “will power”. So, what should I do? The answer would be quite simple: Control my food intake and exercise. But, that’s easier said that done. I would have to work on my mindset first and hopefully the rest will follow.
