Off for a Week

I’ll be off for a week from the gym beca use I’ll be traveling. Just a bit of an update from my fitness journey, I’m still regularly going to the gym but I haven’t been very motivated the past days. I’m not sure whether it’s because of the hormones or lack of results that makes me lazy to go. But, I will continue with this journey, but as of now, I’m looking for some motivation.

I guess my week off will serve as a time for me to reflect on what I’m doing wrong. I even got a fitness book from the 2nd hand shop to get me motivated. Yes, the upbeat music  with jackson soloist from the gym failed to keep me excited, so I guess I have to look for other ways of motivation and encouragement.

2nd Month in the Gym

I have to congratulate myself. I’ve been going to the gym for almost 2 months now and I’m really enjoying it. Thanks to my Hubby who surprised me the other month with a new pair of shoes and a 1 month unlimited use of the gym. My kids were also very supportive as they wake up very early in the morning and take turns in accompanying me to the gym.

Weight-wise, I think I haven’t really lost a substantial amount of weight yet, but physically I just feel so good.  My energy is over the roof and I don’t feel sluggish anymore like before. The exercises has also given me good night sleep.

As for my workouts, I start with 20-30 mins. cardio using the treadmill and use the remaining 30-40 minutes with weights and other machines. I like the gym that my Hubby has enrolled me in. It’s not crowded and the people are very friendly. They also have blasting music with schecter guitars  and big flat screen  tvs to keep you occupied. So, it’s never lonely or boring to workout there.

I think I stopped trying to be fit.. that’s why writing on this blog is not as comfortable anymore since it reminds me to ‘try to be fit’ when I’m practically not doing anything anymore to be fit.

But just the other day, I thought of joining the gym. I could start with doing some cardio exercises on the treadmill and maybe I can progress from there. I think I just need something to motivate me and get me to start. When I told my Hubby about my plan yesterday, he was a bit skeptical and asked when I can have the time to go. Hahahah! and I thought he would be the first one to jump and be happy about this ‘great news’ for him. Anyways, he was just being practical as sometimes I do have some ‘great ideas’ that doesn’t always push through because of the impracticality of it. But, after discussing more, we were able to come up with a schedule and going to check out the nearest gym.

I think going to the gym will work for me because for one, I’m paying for it. And as a frugal mom, I don’t want to waste money so I’ll be ‘force’ to go on a regular basis to get my money’s worth. Next, I think going to the gym will give me some time off. I do remember I used to regularly go to the gym a few months after giving birth to my eldest child and it felt great to get some time off after taking care of the baby 23/7.

Anyways, keeping my fingers crossed that this will push through, but before that I need some good rubber shoes and exercise attire. :)
